FAQ
Running a red light is fined 1,000 THB with 1 demerit point. If unpaid within 30 days, a 1% per month surcharge is added.
Drunk driving carries a fine of 5,000–20,000 THB and/or up to 1 year imprisonment, plus 4 demerit points and possible license suspension.
If unpaid within 30 days, a 1% monthly surcharge accrues (max 12 months). You may be unable to renew your annual vehicle registration until all fines are cleared.
